abject.app

desktop applications. small, offline-first tools that do one thing properly and don't ask you to make an account.

three apps, all of which run entirely on your machine

DeviceMonger shipping

Windows device manager with instant search across every device attribute — hardware ID, driver, service, class, all ~70 properties.

pdfu in development

Cross-platform PDF editor for filling out forms. Nobody should have to print a PDF to fill it out.

phi-reader private beta

Offline viewer for healthcare C-CDA / CCD documents. Makes no network requests of any kind.

what these have in common

They run locally. No telemetry, no accounts, no cloud round-trip for work your own computer is perfectly capable of doing. Where a tool reads sensitive data, it does so without a network stack involved at all.

Most are MIT-licensed with source you can read and build yourself. Where there is a paid build, it buys you a code-signed binary and supports the work — not a feature you'd otherwise be denied.
